“We had a wonderful, and educational, time on Eva’s evening photography session in Florence. Originally, the thought was to sign up for the course in order to encourage the one, in our family, who uses a traditional camera. In the end, though, two more of us joined in with our iPhones also. Eva had a warm and welcoming demeanor, knows her subject well (both using a conventional camera as well as a mobile one), brought in some great information which tied into ‘innovations’ which were advanced in Firenze during the Renaissance, brought our attentive to new and creative ways to “capture” images, and was excellent moving between the various types of cameras. Excellent information, communication, and fun choice of sites. We would highly recommend Eva’s evening tour, and just wish we could take a series of her classes. Grazie, Eva!”
David“Eva was fantastic. She is fluent in English, which is greatly appreciated. Very knowledgeable about photography. Willing to provide composition suggestions. Supportive. Passionate about Florence and provided insiders perspective of the area and local traditions. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. Thanks, Eva!”
M“We loved our tour with Eva and learned so much from her. She was great with each member of our family including the kids (ages 6, 8, 9, 11). We worked on several types of photography including architecture, landscape and portraits. Our only regret is that we didn’t book our session with Eva earlier in our trip.”
Jenna“I did eventually have my “Private Photographic Tour of Florence”, even though the heavens continued to open on us and we needed to postpone from the original date. Eva was an excellent tutor and her insights into composition, timing and lense choice for architectural photography was very insightful, especially in an old, tight city like Florence. I was able to “pick her brains” regarding not only her secret photo spots in Florence but also some techniques and settings she uses in low light photography and the couple of hours just flew by.
I’m glad I jotted down some of her words of wisdom to use later on in my trip in places like Amsterdam and Iceland where the lighting was quite challenging.”Nick“Eva was super nice and we learned a lot about composition, lighting, the basics of photography. What was also cool was the fact that she took us to some lesser known places to take beautiful pictures of the city! We enjoyed it very much and would definitely recommend if you’re an amateur photographer!”
Ana“Eva was great and shared so much information with us. The rest of our trip we followed her
tips and lessons and got some great shots as a result!”Andrew“Florence is a beautiful city, and Eva helps you capture that beauty with this enjoyable walking tour. My images came out spectacular and I learned more about using my camera in different ways. Eva asked me what I was looking for, and tailored the tour around my interests. She was also a welcoming, pleasant, and patient teacher. I had fun!
I’m a better photographer because of the time I spent with Eva. Completely worth it if you want to enjoy your time capturing Florence’s beauty.”Tom“The photo walking tour was fantastic! Eva, our guide, was great. I learned a few things about photography I will use to create better photos.”
Maddie“Eva was fantastic.
Tamara“I loved it. Eva explained how to use the camera, its many functions, the architectural history of what I was photographing, and why those sites are significant for both photography and appreciating Florence. As a novice photographer, I found Eva’s guidance motivating and inspiring.”
Neele“Eva gave me an excellent tour. She tailored tour based on my needs. She shared her secret shooting spots, which is super valuable for a visitor. She gave plenty of good/bad examples, which is super helpful for someone visual like me. Beyond all of the above, her passion for photography is super inspiring. I’d highly recommend her tour to anyone.”
Daisy“Eva was the most considerate, approachable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide I have come across yet. The tour was truly tailored to me in every way, and Eva was incredibly proactive, helping to make the most of my whistle stop tour, despite the rain! Highly recommend! Great fun/day out!”
Bilal“Our experience with Eva was nothing short of spectacular! Before the date of our tour, she contacted me by email to set the time. She chatted back and forth through email about my experience and what I was hoping to shoot in Florence. She met me right on time at a central location. Her English is EXCELLENT, so it was very easy to communicate with her. She had me take some sample shots and talk about my comfort level with my camera and decided we should work on composition. We went to several location, and ended up at the Ponte Vechhio view point for sunset and blue hour. I knew it was going to be a full moon, so I ended up staying after the tour ended to wait for the moon to come out from behind the clouds. It was well worth it. Eva really took the time to talk about composition, and fully explained golden hour and blue hour in an easy to understand way, and taught me how to make the most of the beautiful light. If I get back to Florence I would LOVE to spend more time with Eva! I’m glad I did this tour at the beginning of our trip, it improved my picture for the entire trip.”
Janet“One of the best experience of our three week trip. We did not want to do the typical tourist tour in florence but there is a lot to see and understand. With Eva we got not only the history and sights around florence but lessons in photographic composition, lighting, timing, and photography details. I personally have had no technical training and used my iPhone while my husband, an amateur photographer, and my daughter who took photography classes used a more sophisticated camera and all of us were able to improve our photography without getting bored. She also gives us hits on how to be a model for a photo and how to capture that moment that makes a subject look great — both walking and sitting. A great tour and ideal for improving photos for the rest of Italy.”
Jn“Eva was superb! We spent 4 hours taking wonderful photos and I learned so much from Eva. I consider myself an intermediate photographer, but I learned so much about how to really take photos in a city like Florence. My guide shared her secrets that will certainly lead to me being a better photographer. Her sharing of the history of photos in Florence was exhilarating. The tour ended with sunset shots from Plaza Michelangelo. We took photos from different vantage points. I highly recommend this great tour. Eva is an excellent photographer also.”
Dennis“We were late for this tour due to a significantly delayed train. However, Eva was fantastically flexible and we organized a delayed tour for later in the evening. We still enjoyed over 2 hours with Eva and I learnt a lot about different ways to take fabulous photos of Florence and used these techniques on the rest of our holiday. My husband, who isn’t into photography at all, came along and also quite enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend taking a tour with Eva. I also can’t thank her enough for being so flexible with the train delay and allowing us to do the tour later on.”
Deborah“Eva was great at tailoring the sights and content to my style and level of experience. Although I like to think I know a fair bit about photography, Eva found a few concepts and techniques for composition and lighting that were revelations to me. She also reveals a few obscure nooks and crannies to achieve some memorable perspectives of Florence. Thoroughly recommended.”
Julian“Eva was amazing! My husband and I signed up for the 4-hour Private Photo Walking tour with her. I recently purchased a digital DLSR and this time, instead of randomly snapping pictures of everything, I really wanted to shoot photos in manual mode that would capture interesting composition ……something that would tell a story in each of my photo. I wouldn’t be able to do this in a group tour. Eva was able to custom tailor our needs to include the understanding of exposure triangle, leading lines, artistic composition and not to mention how to photograph blue hour and golden hour. But she also shared with us the rich history of Florence. Going on a private photography tour with her was the smartest decision I have made. Came back with many photos with a WOW factor. THank you, THank you, EVA!!!”
Kathleen“Eva was a delight! We spent a couple of hours together during which she gave me wonderful photo tips. She showed me how to photograph architectural features, how to select some interesting foreground, and provided a information about light, connecting light features with the times around sunrise and sunset. Overall a wonderful experience which I highly recommend for someone interested in improving their travel photos!”
Julie“I booked this photo walking tour of Florence with Eva Perocsenyi. We met at 7:30pm for sunset shoot. Eva was great she knew the places to go and be there just before sunset. I was able to get some nice pictures of the Duomo from an elevated site and we were at the Ponte Vecchio for the sunset. More than happy and highly recommend Eva.”
Anabel“Had a great couple of hours with Eva. She tailored the tour to meet our specific needs and explained things in a very easy, clear way to understand. Thoroughly recommend this tour as it really gave us a different perspective on capturing Florence in photographs.”
Michael“Two friends and I spent a truly wonderful 5 hours with Eva. We learnt some really valuable photographic skills and techniques and also saw parts of Florence that we would not have discovered by ourselves. During the time we spent with Eva one member of our group went from being not particularly interested in photography to becoming totally engaged in the experience and spent the remainder of our time in Italy totally ‘hooked’. Eva is knowledgeable, patient and gracious with her time and skills. She very readily and easily managed our quite diverse skill set, personalities and equipmentI I would highly recommend taking her Florence Private Photo Walk. Thank you so much Eva!”
Janet“Eva was lovely to spend time with, but, more importantly, she taught me a lot in a short time. She helped me improve my photo composition enormously, providing several opportunities to practice throughout the city. She even taught me a few tricks to get the most out of my iPhone 10. I came home with some great photographs but also some easy rules of thumb for good photo composition. I also loved the fact that Eva referenced Florence photo history. I did several Florence tours through Viator and I feel as thought there was 70% content overlap between them. But Florence is such an interesting city with such a rich history – not every tour has to reference the Vasari corridor and the building of the Duomo! Eva’s tour brought a whole new dimension to the city and its history. This was the highlight of my five days in Florence!”
Cindy“Eva was so nice and helped my daughter and I master the basics of capturing the beautiful architecture of Florence. The tour was private and we were able to receive personalized guidance and the basics of using our cameras to get the best pictures possible. I loved that she shared some historical photos as well as her own photos to illustrate the concepts. Thank you to Eva – we had a great morning!”
Barbara“I booked this photo walking tour of Florence with Eva Perocsenyi. We met at 7:30pm for sunset shoot. Eva was great she knew the places to go and be there just before sunset. I was able to get some nice pictures of the Duomo from an elevated site and we were at the Ponte Vecchio for the sunset. More than happy and highly recommend Eva.”
Dave“My two friends and I spent a wonderful six hours with Eva. We saw and learnt so much about Florence as well as making fantastic images of the places we visited. She managed our varying skills and equipment extremely well. Highly recommended!”
Jenin“I booked this tour just one day before my arrival to Florence. I did not have any idea what to expect and was surprised to receive an immediate confirmation for my booking for the next day. I met Eva, the photographer on the meeting point as agreed. She was asking me what I am interested to see and given that I just arrived to the city I asked her to bring me around. I can’t be thankful enough to her as she showed me some of the secret spots of the city which I couldn’t visit on my own!!! She was also teaching me how can I take better photos of the city and how can I use my camera properly. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it to everybody!”
Ladda“If you are new to photography, this tour is for you. If you are an amateur looking to brush up on your skills, this tour is for you. If you are an experienced photographer and need to find different angle or locations in Florence, this tour is for you! Eva made the tour effortless and allowed me to wade back into the deeper waters of photography that I miss. We worked on three types of composition, discussed light and she broke down the evening hours by type. We also talked about location and getting shots in places you might not think of. Overall, Eva’s tour enhances your skills at whatever level you might be. It is money well spent! Hint: Take the evening tour. It is really enjoyable.”
Jeff“Eva was a great teacher, very hands on, she manages to explain complex things in a simple and visual way. I now understand why I should my camera in a certain way and where my camera is at it’s most happy. I also enjoyed the anecdotes and references to photographers. The tour was tailored to my interests (street photography and how to use my camera settings). I will certainly be going on the advance tour when I am back.”
Jennifer“Eva was great! She took a few minutes to learn about our interests and tailored the lesson/tour to us. My husband is an avid photographer and I did not have much interest in photography— but she made sure that each of us received good value from the experience. I highly recommend it, even for casual photographers who like traveling.”
Joyce“My wife and I spent four hours with Eva in the evening and night photography. She took us to some of the famous as well as hidden germs of Florence. She was very knowledgeable not only in photography, but also in the role as a local guide. The most fabulous moment was the blue hour after sunset. The change in sky colours with the Doumo was just amazing. I highly recommend the guide trip to people who want to explore more about photography in the evening and night.”
Chris“Die Fototour war interessant und hat uns an viele schöne Orte geführt.”
Carin“My photo guide Eva is very knowledge about photography, she was able to explain things very clearly. She also knows her city very well. I had great fun walking around with her, learning and taking photos.”
HK“Excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves. We are pretty confident photographers and she still was able to understand what we wanted and teach us something. Very lovely lady.”
Gary“Eva is a skilled guide. She knows the technical side of photography and how to teach them in a very approachable way. She knows the city, the light, and the best angles. She is great to share her insights on culture and history along the journey. Perhaps most of all, I enjoyed her instruction and comments on photography as art. I’ve been on a lot of tours around the world and I consider Eva among the best. Stop thinking about it and sign up for a tour with Eva, you’ll be happy you did.”
Matt“This was a great tour! My partner and I had recently purchased a film camera. Eva walked us through each step of using the camera, explaining concepts like aperture, shutter speed, focus, and dynamic range. We took photos throughout the center of Florence, testing what we had learned. The tour was a great introduction to using the camera and was exactly what we were hoping for. Eva is very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who is interested!”
James“Amazing! We learned so much from Eva in terms of essential photography tips for travel – for both a camera and IPhone. She asked us what key points we wanted to learn and then taught us very methodically. My husband wasn’t going to come because I am the photography lover but he learned so much about his I phone camera and was equally thrilled! We will be back in Florence and will be requesting Eva!”
P“I had a wonderful time exploring Florence with Eva. She guided me, gave me meaningful advice and I learned so much about taking pictures in the evening and at night. She is knowledgeable and was very patient with a new learner. I highly recommend the experience.”
Marillyn“Eva did an amazing job. She helped us both to get more skill, was fun to talk to and showed us interesting sites.”
Camille“Quality teaching and discussion, the guide knew the district and also the skills. Pleasant evening indeed.”
Kerrie“Ava did a wonderful job with showing us how to take some exceptional pictures. She helped my granddaughter with her new camera by showing her different options on taking the same picture. She also helped us to take the best pictures with our cell phones.”
Diane“This was an amazing experience, we really enjoyed Eva’s creativity, knowledge and learnt so much about settings and we benefitted from her local knowledge of Florence too. We would definitely recommend as it was one of our highlights of visiting the city and a wonderful photography experience.”
Mike“Whether you’re a novice or you’ve been doing photography for a while, Eva will show you a few tricks and things to think about. And if you already know a few tricks, she’ll lead you to some awesome places to take pictures! Eva did a great job of explaining the techniques, and then provided perfect places to practice. Would highly recommend!”
Elissa“Eva was great. She showed us ways of getting the best out of architectural images and took us to some key places to photograph in the best light, and showed us some unusual compositions that are out of the ordinary, as well as suggestions for what to do next when photographing on our own. She summarised the key ‘learning points’ and suggested how to make the best of our images when we got home. Shame it was so short. Perhaps another time I would book for longer session.”
Nicola“Eva did a wonderful job of meeting our level of expertise and gave us a wonderful tour and many helpful ideas which we were able to use throughout the rest of our trip, as well as when we got home.”
James“The Florence private photo walk with Eva was fantastic. Eva started by finding out what sort of level of photographer I am and what I wanted from the experience and since I know my camera fairly well, we could concentrate on the artistic side (composition, framing, picking the best location for the light, etc). Her instruction was very clear and specific to my needs/wants, so the whole experience was very relevant, informative and fun. In addition to the photography instruction, Eva gave some interesting facts and information about Florence and some history of photography in Florence (and Italy). For anyone interested in improving their photography skills, whether technical, artistic or all aspects, I would highly recommend the Florence private photo walk with Eva. I honestly believe that I learnt and understood more in this 4 hours than I have watching endless hours of You Tube instructional videos.”
Rob“Eva was a terrific guide. She impressed us with her expertise & her photo tips. The tour was well-organized & she made it fun. With Eva, we explored unique spots in the city as well as the iconic PonteVecchio. We highly recommend this photo walk & will be doing another one with her when we come back next year.”
Dianne“Eva was a wonderful teacher and guide. She gave us truly useful tips on how to take successful architectural photos which are a little different from the standard shots. She took us to some excellent places and also recommended a super bar for us to visit at the end of our tour. She was very patient and talented. So pleased to have found her tour.”
Juliette“Thoroughly enjoyed the photography but also getting to see a different perspective on incredible landmarks. Excellent guide!”
Diane“It was awesome in having a opportunity to be reintroduced to photography techniques I knew but have been sloppy in using them. Eva brought those techniques clearly in picture taking and had wonderful stories that reinforced the learnings. The time flies by quickly and you are immersed into the craft of taking great pictures. This is definitely worth taking to see Florence in a unique perspective.”
Robert“Eva was amazing, everything I expected and more. She shared so many tips on how to take the perfect photos and helped you to do it yourself. I highly recommend this!”
Darcy“Eva was great and I would highly recommend this experience. She was very knowledgeable and helped with photography composition and locations around Florence.”
Elizabeth“I had an incredible day with Eva in Florence. Her local knowledge was amazing and I learnt so much about photography. Thank you for a wonderful experience.”
Beverley“Its a private tour! It was only me and eva who did the photowalk it was big help teaching me on one on one basis. She teaches so many techniques on how to take a great photo. I discovered more features of my camera. Brings out creativeness in you. Thanks Eva!”
Joycelyn“My wife and myself had a wonderful experience on a photo tour with Eva in Florence. Eva took us through Florence and made sure we both took some great photographs and was especially good with composition. You don’t need to have a fancy DSLR, Eva showed my wife how to take some great pictures using her iPhone. We had a great time exploring and taking pictures! Highly recommend Eva if you are going to Florence!”
Nicholas“Eva was an excellent teacher and pointed out a number of lesser known spots for us to take photos. She was very patient and knowledgeable about both photography and Florence. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to improve their photography.”
Mfb“Eva is a wonderful photographer & has some great ideas on how to do things slightly out of the box. No point in going to Firenze & taking photos people see all the time in books & magazines. She will take you to parts of the city that as a tourist, you wouldn’t know how to get to. Communication with Eva the day before was excellent & the meeting point was easy to get to. I had a great time & learnt a lot. I would highly recommend Eva. Even if you don’t have a camera you can use your camera phone. Very enjoyable day. Thank you.”
Maria“I booked this tour last minute and have to say it was worth every penny. I really enjoyed my time with Eva. She has a great understanding of the city and she was showing me some of the unusual perspectives that most tourists would never see. She is very personable, kind and friendly but at the same time also very professional. She gave excellent advice on set up, composition and photography basics. Seeing some of the sights of Florence when there is very few tourists gives a completely different perspective to this wonderful city and having a local guide you is even better. I highly recommend Eva and the Florence by Night Tour.”
Sasha“The private photo tour was a great experience. Eva gave us a mix of photo-taking tips and hints and introduced us to sights that we would not have found by ourselves.”

Meet Your Guide
Ciao, I’m Eva, your photography tour leader and educator, dedicated to sharing the beauty and secrets of Florence. My journey into photography began with a passion for storytelling and a love for capturing life’s fleeting moments.
With over a decade of experience in the industry, I bring a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to every tour. From capturing the Renaissance architecture to uncovering hidden gems in Florence, I’m here to guide you on a journey of discovery and creativity.
As your tour leader, my goal is simple: to help you see the world through a new perspective and empower you to capture stunning images that tell your unique story.
Good To KNow
The meeting point is in the historical center of Florence. Private tours are departing from Piazza della Repubblica Piazza Santa Trinita.
Daytime tours are starting at the afternoon before sunset while nigh tours are starting after sunset. Sunset varies throughout the year between 5pm-9pm.
Don’t worry about weather! Tuscany is the land of sunshine with lot of sunny hours even at winter. In addition, some light rain or cloudy skies can create special dramatic images. However in case of very bad weather conditions it is possible to reschedule your session for free.
No prior photography experience is necessary. All photo tours cater to photographers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced enthusiasts. I will provide guidance and tips tailored to your level.
Yes, I offer private photo tours for individuals, couples, families, and small groups up to 8 people. Private tours allow for a more personalized experience, where I can customize the itinerary and pace to suit your preferences.
- You can bring any camera you’re comfortable with, whether it’s a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or even just a smartphone. I’ll tailor the tour to accommodate different levels of equipment.
- Please make sure that your batteries are fully charged before the tour
- We will move around by foot so comfortable shoes are recommended
- Tripod might be required during the Night Tours, but not necessary
- A bottle of water is recommended during summer
The historical center of Florence is absolutely safe! However if you wish, I can accompany you back to your hotel at the end of the tour, in case it is centrally located.
The walking tour does not include guided city tour or information about art and history given that in Italy only licensed tour guides are permitted to provide those. However during the tour I’ll share many useful tips and information about the city and I’ll explain at all sights what are we going to see and photograph.
Certainly! In today’s digital age, most people carry a high-quality camera right in their pocket with their smartphones, and it’s natural to want to capture the beauty of your travels. With my straightforward and practical tips, I’ve inspired a passion for photography in many spouses who were initially just tagging along, transforming them from casual sightseers into enthusiastic photo lovers!
